ESTROMBOL is a synthetic anabolic agent that exhibits the highest anabolic effect with minimal androgenic effect among its class. It promotes overall growth and reconstruction of the organism, primarily in bone, cartilage, and muscle tissues. It increases appetite, weight, and general condition. It produces a marked positive nitrogen balance by stimulating protein synthesis; it also retains sodium, water, potassium, zinc, phosphorus, and calcium.

It counteracts the catabolic effect of corticosteroids. It stimulates the formation of red blood cells.

INDICATIONS

ESTROMBOL is indicated for the following conditions:

• Weakened animals in poor general condition
• Animals subjected to work or excessive exertion
• Growing animals
• Cases of malnutrition
• Convalescent cases of infectious or surgical processes
• Appetite stimulant in anorexic conditions
• Myopathic conditions (myositis, tears, white muscle disease)
• Severe anemias (tumoral states; chronic renal failure)
• Osteoporosis, fractures, and osteolysis (since ESTROMBOL® increases the synthesis of osteoid matrix)
• As an adjunct to prolonged steroid therapy to counteract their protein catabolic effect.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Deep intramuscular route.

Do not mix with other drugs in the same syringe. Use a sterile needle and syringe.

The recommended dosage for different species is:

Equines (in applicable countries): 1 ml/50 kg.

Camels: 0,5 ml/50 kg

Canines: 0.5 to 2 ml total.

Felines: 0.5 to 1 ml total.

The dose in all 4 species can be repeated after seven days.
